Looking to get out on the water? Docked at Pirate’s Cove Marina on the Nags Head/Manteo Causeway, this comfortable, 65-foot, double-decker party boat /head boat offers fishing in the sounds and around Oregon Inlet as well as a variety of fun cruises around Roanoke Island. On one of their head boat fishing trips you’ll catch fish such as flounder, croaker, spot, trout, sea mullet, sea bass and more, depending on the season and conditions. All bait, tackle and licenses are furnished, and this is a great way to introduce kids to fishing. Half-day fishing trips, leaving at 7 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in summer and 8 a.m. only in the off-season, cost $48 for adults and $38 for children ages 10 and younger. For sightseeing on the sound, Sunset Cruises are offered from 6 to 7:30 pm nightly in April, May, September and October.  During the summer season in June, July, and August cruises are from 6:30 to 8 p.m. They cost $25 for adults and $20 for children. Kids younger than 3 go for free on all trips. Ask about other tours, including Purple Martin Excursions in late July and early August. Crystal Dawn is available for private charters, bachelor and bachelorette parties, ashes at sea ceremonies, family functions and more. The boat can accommodate up to 100 passengers, though they limit the number to 50 on fishing trips for the comfort of all passengers.
